Lip filler lumps are not that common but can happen with any type of injectable. I often find that lip fillers lumps are very similar to bruises. There are a few reasons why lip filler lumps can occur, but the most common reason is insufficient time for the injected material to settle.

Tips on how to massage a lip filler lump:

1. Do not rub the area with your fingers, as this may lead to inflammation and can cause more bruising.

2. Do not use a cotton tip applicator as this can damage the tissue and force material out of the injected area, causing inflammation and bleeding.

3. Massage the area gently using your fingertips or a piece of gauze with an oil or cream that will help with inflammation, like Aveeno until it softens and disappears. It usually takes about 5 minutes for it to disappear completely.

4. Stop immediately if you see bleeding or excessive swelling in the area or if you experience pain during massage or discomfort in the next day or so.

5. Also stop if you have any sensitivity to the cream, oil or lotion that you are using, especially if you're sensitive to bee products or honey.

Note: If you continue to have some pain or discomfort, don't hesitate to contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.
